Why Diverse Medical was founded: 

With over 15 years of medical supply experience, I recently sold a stocking distributorship with a loyal physician office account base.

During this time as a purchasing agent for my own small business, I realized that:

• The playing field was not always equal. Unfortunately, I was not receiving the same level pricing and/or service that some of the larger distributors were experiencing simply because I didn't buy as much.
• Our invoices were inconsistent. The prices we were expecting were continuously increasing as some manufacturers blamed it on the cost of their raw materials having increased. An example is when the cost of cotton was said to have gone up, which drove the cost of gauze up substantially. Yet the clothing industry showed no signs of an impact for their end users. 
• A stainless steel table and/or stainless steel tray will cost 200% more in the medical arena than what it would cost in the restaurant industry.
• Veterinarians pay 40% less for the same medical supplies that a medical doctor is charged.
• Sutures are 60% less expensive when used in a market that deals with cadavers verses live patients.

My overall experience proves that the margins in the medical supply arena are seriously inflated. Medical doctors are being taken advantage of. Especially the ones who stand alone, trusting and dealing directly with their suppliers!
